Chevrolet and GMC have confirmed a new eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard on 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon Denali/Yukon XL Denali models equipped with the 6.2L EcoTec3 V-8.

Toyo Tires will launch its all-new Open Country R/T in the first part of September 2014. It will be the first Toyo tire fully made in North America at its plant in Georgia.

Toyo Tires pulled the cover off its new off-road tire recently – but only a little bit. Off-Road.com was recently invited to get an early look at its newest off-road tire, the Open Country R/T, which won’t be available in dealers until September of this year.

Longtime Toyota veteran and community activist Michael Rouse, who currently serves as vice president of diversity, philanthropy and community affairs is now president of the Foundation. Rouse assumes this new role in addition to his current responsibilities.

Res. 493) designating July 11, 2014 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.”  The Resolution was requested by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) and Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Councils.  The date marks the fifth commemoration in what has become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.

S. Res. 493 was sponsored by Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), along with Sen. The first annual Unlimited Off-Road American Show & Expo fulfilled its tagline ‘East Goes Epic’. It was extremely successful in the eyes of the enthusiasts there to enjoy, exhibitors who were able to show and sell their products, and racers who threw dirt demonstrating their extreme off-road machines capabilities. Offroad and powersports vehicles of all sorts filled the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY Friday through Sunday June 20-22. “We can’t be more excited about the overall feel of the show.  As a first time event, we won’t lie and say we weren’t nervous,” said Erin Freeman, Expo Coordinator.  “The response from everyone has been overwhelming and we look forward to growing into an even bigger event for next year.”
