Geico-Endurocross-New-4-10-13Irvine, CA (May 20, 2013) – FMF KTM’s Mike Brown won his second X Games Enduro X Gold medal in Barcelona, Spain. He led an American sweep of the podium as Colton Haaker took a close second on the Rockstar/Lucas oil backed JCR Honda and Cody Webb remounted from a big crash to take third on his Beta.

Taddy Blazusiak, the multi time GEICO AMA EnduroCross champion pressured Brown for the win until a spectacular crash on the last lap took him out of contention for the win. The Polish KTM rider remounted in third position but was passed before the finish by Webb, who had crashed on the same log double earlier in the race. Blazusiak finished fourth with Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder close behind in fifth. Kyle Redmond, Gary Sutherlin, Bobby Prochnau, Alfredo Gomez and Taylor Robert rounded out the top ten.

GNCC-Racing-Logo-4-17-13SPRINGVILLE, Ind. (May 20, 2013) – Following some of the muddiest race conditions the series has seen in recent history, the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series experienced picture perfect weather and track conditions on Sunday for the Dunlop Limestone 100 GNCC. After three hours of intense battle, Charlie Mullins extended his points lead over the field by capturing his fourth win of the season at Round 6 of the 13-race series.

The AmPro Yamaha team got off to another great start, first with Paul Whibley securing the $250 All Balls Racing XC1 Holeshot Award and then it was Jordan Ashburn who grabbed the early lead. Ashburn held the lead through Lap 1 but it didn’t take long for the Factory FMF/KTM duo of Mullins and Kailub Russell to put themselves out front. Just when it appeared to be a two-way battle for the win, Shenandoah Honda/USWE-Sports.com’s Thad DuVall entered himself into the chase. Around the halfway mark, DuVall broke up the KTM teammates, riding in the second place position behind Russell until Mullins made the move past both riders to reclaim the lead with two laps to go.

GNCC-Mullins-Preview-5-16-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Following an unpredictable weekend of weather and track conditions at Round 5 of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series, the chase for the 2013 championship has become a little bit tighter. While Charlie Mullins continues to lead the way in the overall standings, a tough weekend for the Factory FMF/KTM team last round allowed the rest of the field to garner much needed points in the championship chase. As the series makes its way into Round 6 this weekend, several riders will carry the momentum needed to inch another step closer towards the number one spot.

Shenandoah Honda/USWE-Sports.com’s Thad DuVall is the first non-KTM rider to claim an overall victory in 2013, giving the West Virginia native confidence heading into this weekend’s Dunlop Limestone 100 GNCC. DuVall currently sits one point below Carolina KTM/RidePG.com’s Chris Bach in the overall standings after experiencing a crash and failing to score championship points at Round 3. With the exception of the points leader Mullins, Bach is the only other XC1 rider to have successfully scored championship points at all five rounds thus far. Consistency has paid off for the Indiana native as he looks to score his third podium finish in his home state this weekend.

Radar-Tire-Off-Road-5-16-13Following a rough start to the 2013 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season, Mike Johnson, driver of the No. 31 Bronson Motorsports Toyota Tacoma sponsored by Radar Tires, took a vacation to Costa Rica following the Las Vegas races in April.  Johnson’s goal – rid himself of the monkey on his back.

Sans the monkey, Johnson returned to California, refreshed, refocused and determined to finish on the Pro Lite Unlimited class podium for Rounds Five and Six of LOORRS at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Southern California.

Since luck was not on Johnson’s side in Las Vegas, the team’s secret weapon this weekend will be friends and family.  The Bronson Motorsports race shop in Murietta, California, is approximately 15 miles from Lake Elsinore.  Home dirt advantage should prove beneficial to the team, due to the local ties and April test session.

GBC-Motorsports-Off-Road-5-16-13Anaheim, Calif. – GBC Motorsports racers are heating up to go along with rising temperatures in Southern California as RJ Anderson and Mitch Guthrie Jr. won their respective classes at WORCS Honolulu Hills.

SXS Pro Production
With temperatures breaking into triple digits, WORCS Racing descended on the small town of Taft, CA for the fifth round of the 2013 season. RJ Anderson took the holeshot and the early lead in the hotly contested SXS Pro class, as fellow GBC racers James Hill and Tommy Scranton followed behind in third and fourth. Anderson seems to be back to form as he controlled the entire race and finished with his second straight victory aboard his GBC Dirt Commanders.

Lucas-Oil-Logo-11-21-11LAKE ELSINORE, California – This weekend (May 17-19) the largest crowd in the history of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series presented by Geico is expected to pack Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for the fifth and sixth rounds of this year’s 15-round series.

That doesn’t surprise the drivers at all.

“Elsinore is built on the concept of showing what a short-course race truck can really do,” reigning Pro 4 Unlimited class champion Kyle LeDuc said. “These trucks are made to fly, to do unbelievable things, and I think the Elsinore track really shows it.
“We’ll be 18 or 20 feet off the ground and in the air for 150 feet or so. Distance-wise, it depends on how much testosterone you’ve got. It’s up to the driver. And you’re doing it six inches from the guy next to you who’s doing the same thing.”
