Go-Baja-Riding-logo-10-21-14Go Baja Riding has announced that it will provide racers, or those looking to compete in their first hard-core race, an opportunity of a lifetime to race the SCORE Baja 1000 this year. Go Baja provides an all-inclusive race program for the Baja 1000. We cover logistics, food, lodging, transportation, bikes for pre run, pitting, and a professionally built 450x with a full-time chase crew (altogether it’s a nine-day program including race day).

Go Baja Riding Tours proudly announced last week that we are now a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. All proceeds generated will go directly to the WWP. Our donation page is available at support: support.woundedwarriorproject.org/group-fundraising/gobajariding. Go Baja Riding says it is excited to give back to the soldiers that have kept us safe. Two of the team’s riders are combat wounded veterans, so all of us at Go Baja Riding are racing for a larger cause.

2014 BITD BlueWater Desert Challenge
Fort Mill, SC – Dry, hot and sandy. Those were the words used to describe this year’s Best In The Desert (BITD) Blue Water Desert Challenge held at the Blue Water Casino in Parker, AZ. This two-day race is not for the faint of heart and drivers struggled with rough terrain and extreme temperatures with the ambient temps reaching 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It wasn’t enough to hold back Team GT who dominated the 1500 Class on their General Grabbers with Harley Letner taking top honors.

Camp-RZR-Polaris-5-8-14Minneapolis - Polaris RZR wanted to remind off-road enthusiasts about Camp RZR  in Glamis, Calif., on October 31-November 2.

Known as a celebration of all things RZR, the first Camp RZR was held during the 2013 New Years weekend, in the Glamis Sand Dunes, in Calif. The event was such a success, it was repeated later that year over Halloween weekend. Polaris expanded the event internationally when the first-ever Camp RZR was held in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year; and added a second North American Camp at Brimstone, in Huntsville, Tenn., in September.

Similar to years past, Camp RZR will feature vendors, free food, giveaways, RZR 170 races, a Show & Shine competition, a kid’s zone, RZR demos and Polaris staff on hand to answer questions. The RZR 170 races will include celebrity racers Ronnie Renner, Levi LaVallee, RJ Anderson and Colten Moore with autograph sessions on Friday and Saturday.

Candy-Cane-Off-Road-Baja-10-20-14The Prince Edible Race Car Co. announced in October that The Great Candy Cane Off Road Race Team is offering big-time prize  money to the first and last finishers in the November Baja 1000 Sportsman truck and buggy classes. The fastest Sportsman truck or buggy will receive $1,000, and the last finisher will receive $500.

The Great Candy Cane Off-Road Race Team participated in dozens of Baja races since its inaugural run at the 1982 Baja 1000, and dominated the Sportsman class for most of the 18 years it ran. The team attributed its winning record to the unbelievable performance of eco friendly components on the 2-seat buggy, such as the licorice used to make the non-slip tires, and the home-made marshmallows used to pad the striped driver and passenger seats. It also used salt-water taffy for fan belts, chocolate syrup instead of motor oil, and lemonade as a substitute for 140-octane racing fuel. The colorful red-and-white striped buggy was unofficially clocked by an unknown person at 413.8 mph on Diablo Dry Lake during a violent rainstorm, although the manufacturer never claimed speeds higher than 42 mph.
