Ford has unveiled the 2024 F-150 Raptor R, the latest addition to its lineup of off-road trucks. This V8-powered beast is making a return after the 700-horsepower Raptor fell just two horses short of its rival, the Ram 1500 TRX. It’s not about daily performance but rather the prestige of having the most powerful gas-powered truck.

The 2024 model comes with some tweaks under the hood, with improvements in the air intake system and engine calibration. These changes result in a wider torque curve, though the peak torque remains at 640 pound-feet, just like its predecessor.

To put things in perspective, the original Raptor from 2008 had a meager 310 horsepower from its 5.4-liter V8. Times have certainly changed!

While Ford hasn’t spilled the beans on other details of the 2024 F-150 Raptor R, we can reasonably assume it will inherit upgrades from the regular Raptor, including the Fox Dual Live Valve shocks. Stay tuned for more information in the coming year.
