BFGoodrich Tires has announced the launch of its new BFGoodrich HD-Terrain T/A KT tire, specifically designed for heavy-duty trucks. Scheduled for release on April 1, this tire is tailored for vehicles that operate under high torque and in demanding conditions.

The development of the HD-Terrain tire is a response to the growing need for durable tires in challenging work environments. Unlike standard tires designed for recreational off-road vehicles, the HD-Terrain T/A KT tire is specifically engineered for heavy-duty applications. According to Stephen Peters, BFGoodrich Brand Director, this tire addresses a market gap for more resilient tires suitable for heavy-duty trucks.

Key features of the HD-Terrain tire include its all-new tread compound, which is designed to resist chipping and tearing, and its robust construction that ensures sidewall toughness. These tires have undergone rigorous testing in extreme conditions, consistently demonstrating durability and resilience. The tire’s design is focused on meeting the increasing demands of heavy-duty trucks, making it suitable for various tasks, from hauling heavy loads to towing equipment.

Additionally, the HD-Terrain tire incorporates features like “Mud-Phobic” bars and a serrated shoulder design, enhancing traction in different terrains, including gravel and mud. Its CoreGard technology further boosts its durability, particularly against sidewall splitting. This design aspect is crucial in minimizing downtime and maintaining performance both on and off the job site.

The tire also boasts a notable achievement, wearing the “Baja Champion” label on its sidewall, a testament to its victory in the SCORE Baja 500 class in 2021.
