At GM's HUMMER Division, the 2003 model year will go down as the year that changed everything.

The long-awaited arrival of the HUMMER H2 sport utility vehicle will bring HUMMER's unmatched utility and unrivaled heritage to a wide new audience.

"HUMMER's customer base is fiercely loyal, and H2 will help us expand that base while maintaining that same degree of loyalty," said Michael C. DiGiovanni, HUMMER general manager. "We'll eventually offer a full portfolio of products, and ensure that HUMMER remains an extremely powerful brand that connects to consumers on a decidedly emotional level."

H2 takes the rugged heritage of H1 and refines it by adding more creature comforts while maintaining off-road leadership. It's a bold and youthful interpretation of what HUMMER means, in a more civilized package. Its extreme design makes sure that H2 has the eye-catching appearance - and brand recognition - of H1.

"H2 will be a reflection of what H1 is: an exhilarating, uncompromising off-road vehicle," said DiGiovanni, "with the comforts of home included. Like the H1, H2 will offer customers a vehicle to suit their individual taste and style."

The newest addition to the HUMMER family has extremely refined on-pavement manners and ride comfort. And the H2 provides all the features and amenities that a premium SUV customer might want. Yet, off-road, it is almost as fiercely utilitarian as its famous progenitors - capable of traveling through streams 20 inches deep, climbing 16-inch steps and rocks, paddling through deep sand and outdistancing competitors in high-speed desert runs.

H2's big brother H1 remains what it's always been - the world's premier off-road vehicle. It, too, offers refinements and a special edition for 2003.

HUMMER celebrates a decade of off-road leadership with the limited-volume HUMMER H1 10th Anniversary edition. The 10th Anniversary H1, due out in the summer of 2002, is a late addition to the 2002 model year HUMMER lineup.

This special new H1 includes a variety of special features from the one-of-a-kind copper-colored Desert Sunset paint to the wood grain steering wheel and dash.

Unique features like a heavy-duty brush guard, black fender flares, color-keyed wheel accents and the 10th Anniversary logo accent the exterior of the commemorative H1. The interior is tan leather trimmed with heated leather seats that feature the 10th Anniversary logo embroidered in the headrest.

By building a varied product portfolio designed to authentic HUMMER standards, developing unique customization packages creating a branded customer experience in new HUMMER dealerships, GM plans to grow HUMMER into a franchise, while preserving the prestige and panache earned by the H1.

HUMMER, in concert with its dealers, is offering a variety of accessories engineered specifically for the HUMMER vehicles. GM's Service and Parts Operations (SPO) will continue to add to the list of accessories available for the H2, as it grows its vehicle accessory business significantly over the next few years. Research has shown that customers value the security of having GM provide its own validated vehicle accessories.

Those accessories will be available through HUMMER dealerships, of which 150 are scheduled to be open by July 2002.

"Our dealership body is growing, along with our product offerings," DiGiovanni said. "The 2003 model year will be the first of many landmark model years that GM has planned for HUMMER."
