Returning to SoCal for the third time in two years, Round 4 of the five-race 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship will be held Sept. 24-27 just west of El Centro, Calif. and approximately 100 miles east of San Diego.

– The Polaris RZR Jagged X race team arrived at the Alliante Resort & Casino in North Las Vegas, NV on Thursday August 13th ready to take on the longest off-road race in the United States. As expected, the temperatures had already risen past the century mark as tech & contingency got underway. The team, while trying to stay hydrated, diligently completed all of the standard contingency and tech duties, something all teams must do prior to competing.

Dubbed the longest off-road race in America, the Best in the Desert Racing Association’s “Vegas to Reno” is a grueling 545-mile journey through the Nevada desert. The rough and dusty course knocked dozens of competitors out of contention, but both Lazer Star Lights sponsored teams persevered through the conditions to claim impressive finishes in their classes.

The Dumont Dunes Subgroup to the Desert Advisory Council (DAC) has scheduled a public meeting for Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Barstow Field Office, 2601 Barstow Rd, Barstow, CA 92311 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The meeting will provide the public an opportunity to participate in subgroup discussions related to BLM management of the Dumont Dunes Recreation Area. The Dumont Dunes Subgroup discussions and public involvement assists the BLM in managing the recreation area.

– Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicle racers earned four podiums, including Jack’s Excavating / Can-Am winning the UTV 1000 (Pro) class and overall, at the 2015 Heartland Challenge endurance race in Iowa. In Ohio, Can-Am Maverick 1000R racer Kyle Chaney won the Woods Extreme X-C Racing UTV Open class.

Brandon Arthur, The Stinger, was back in form at rounds 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada. Arthur was fresh off a victory in round 11 at Estero Beach in Baja Mexico. He followed that up the next day with a second place in round 12. Arthur has put together a strong run of five straight podium finishes. Round 13 would make it six.
