Superlift's Bunny Run - Slippery on The Rocks

We kicked off the week at Moab Easter Jeep Safari with frost on the rocks, but snow nor rain could keep us from hitting the trail. Joining up with the Superlift / Dynatrac / Falken crew for their annual Bunny Run, we ventured to the Poison Spider trail.

Superlift brought out its new 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK running the latest 4-inch Suspension Kit with Fox Shox.

A number of highly modified Jeep 4x4s showed up at the trailhead, ready to tackle the wet slickrock. Poison Spider, one of Moab’s most popular trails that is rated 6 out of 10, travels northwest of town and is bordered on the east by Moab Valley and on the south by the Colorado River. The scenery is amazing, and the trail serves up plenty of excitement to help keep things moving.

Over 50 rigs showed up for the run. The wet factor increased the difficulty to obstacles and climbs ascending up to Poison Spider Mesa. Even veterans that had done this run plenty of times needed to rethink their plan of attack. Luckily Dan Micks was present to give a helping hand when a spotter was needed.

One of the most unique vehicles on the run was a Jeep JK-8 Recon built by VWerks out of Michigan. The aggressive military-inspired Jeep comes equipped with Hemi V8, Atlas II, Dynatrac ProRock 60 front and Pro 80 rear. On deck was a full 360 Degree rotary mount with a M2 “Ma Deuce” .50 Calibre Machine Gun.

Premier Power Welder was on hand to help out with some trailside repairs to lose rock rails. Yes, that’s right, a self-contained welder under the hood of your Jeep 4x4 able to weld on the trail.

Falken Tires was out in full force showing what their Wild Peak A/T could do on the slickrock. The new 37-inch size tire made from durable rubber compound has plenty of bite.

The grand finale on our way out of Poison Spider was this Jeep XJ that bent a draglink when it slid hard into a v-notch. It had to be strapped out in reverse. No casualties - just smart ass remarks and a long drive into town for parts.
