Warm the bike up thoroughly and then let it cool down for about 3 minutes.

Put the bike up on a stand and make sure that the bike is level. The oil drain is on the shift side.

Cover is removed over air filter. Small phillips screwdriver takes five screws out.

Make sure you choose the correct oil. Look for this symbol.

Here's the oil dipstick to check the oil level.

Don't even screw around witht the wrong tool. Use a 24 mm socket with an extension.

With an extension, you don't have to remove the shifter and can get inside to the drain nut.

Remove the oil drain cap and let the oil drain out into a pan.

Next, remove the filter spring.

Remove the screen filter. We found lots of crud on the screen after only a few hours of break in riding.

Let the oil drain for at least 15 minutes.

Here's the removed oil drain.

Clean the screen completely. We used contact cleaner spray.

Button everything back up, taking care to properly seat the screen filter.

Fill the bike up with oil. About 1.1 US quarts should do it.

Start the bike and let it run for a few mnutes. While it's running, check for leaks. You're done.
