Introducing the all-new Suzuki Vinson for 2002. Inspired by Mt. Vinson an isolated and rugged peak, long famous as the highest peak in Antarctica the Vinson is so strong, capable and versatile that it requires an entire new classification of its own: The Sports Utility ATV. The Vinson 4 x 4 features a liquid-cooled 493cc 4-stroke engine, aggressively-styled bodywork with high-clearance fenders, integrated winch-ready front bumper, as well as a rugged steel frame and five-way adjustable suspension components front and rear for maximum performance in any environment.

The Vinson utilizes a durable 493cc 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC, 4-valve engine with a gear-driven balancer shaft for reduced vibration and is designed for high torque output and quick acceleration. Power is transferred through a fully automatic V-belt transmission with continuously variable gear ratio, centrifugal automatic clutch and a 2-speed sub-transmission with a reverse gear, and an advanced engine braking system to reduce downhill speeds. Choose from 2WD or 4WD with the convenient handlebar-mounted electric push button system. The Vinson also comes equipped with a torque-sensing limited-slip front differential for smooth efficient power to both front wheels while in 4WD mode. In-gear starting allows for quick and easy re-starts regardless of transmission setting, while a compact digital instrument display provides all the necessary information for the rider including speedometer, odometer, twin-tripmeters, clock and gear position.

The strong and lightweight Vinson frame features rugged large diameter, thin-walled tubing for maximum strength and minimal weight, double A-arm suspension with 7.09 inches of wheel travel and five position preload adjustable shock absorbers for a comfortable ride and maximum ground clearance (9.9 in.). A swingarm-style rear suspension with a single preload adjustable shock absorber is used at the rear with 7.87 inches of travel accompanied by lightweight cast aluminum wheels at all four corners. Large 190mm disc brakes are mounted at the front, while a single 216 mm disc brakes slows things down at the rear. A lightweight skid plate and bumper guards are also mounted to provide maximum protection with minimal resistance over rocks and other obstacles. High capacity racks are included front and rear, for anything you may need to carry.

Other features include bright fender mounted multi-reflector headlights, large combination taillight/ brakelight, an additional 40W handlebar-mounted auxiliary light, a large T-shaped seat for comfort and support, a 325 watt charging system, and a waterproof 12V/60W automotivestyle electrical outlet mounted to the front fender.
