Feb. 01, 2005 By Tim ""Desertbull""
Ask us what, when why and where about Dodge Rams!

DIRT City, USA - With the new year a month old and the first Off-Road Convention under our belts, the off-road season is about to launched for some of you. And the rest of you may be fighting snow, rain, mud, icy temperatures and more, but the West has been rain free for about ten days and it's about time to rage. The inclement weather that has frozen half of the nation has kept our readers stuck inside for weeks on end and we've noticed a huge increase in email and letter responses. So for all those websurfters stuck behind the computer for their off-road fix, we're are back at it! GOT DIRT?

Doug asked: This is the link to a Pic on your website showing a toolbox fuel tank. i was trying to find the site to price this tank and possibly purchase one. Please Advise on how i can get to where i want to go.Thanks.

Desertbull says: AERO Fuel Tanks in Corona, California. Visit them at www.AeroTanks.com

Larry Tracy asked: PLEASE TELL ME WHICH BRAND OF XHAUST BRAKE I SHOULD GET FOR MY 99 DODGE CUMMINS 24 VALVE, I HAVE YOUR TRIPLE LOCK TORQUE CONVERTER AND A TOW LOC SYSTEM BUT CAN NOT FIND OUT WHICH I LIKE THE BEST THANK YOU.

Desertbull says: We have had excellent use with the Cummins PacBrake. With regular servicing it continues to "roar" for us with big heavy loads!

Irish Punk said : I just bought a 1996 Dodge 2500 single cab with an extended bed. I want to lift this up, what should I buy?

Desertbull says: Skyjacker provides some of the best and long lasting lift-kits available on the off-road market. Mr. Lonny McCurry-CEO & Founder of Skyjacker, has long been a leader in proven products as they have tested them for three decades in the wilds of America. Visit them at www.Skyjacker.com

Mr Dodge asked: I have a 1994 dodge ram 4wd.The passengers side frount wheel bearing has been replaced eight times. It will last about six mounth.I have tried three differnt frount end shops, they all say they dont know what to do.

Desertbull says: Are you flying the truck through the air and landing at the local airport? If not, look closely at the solid axle as it may actually be bent causing the seating of the bearing to be misaligned. Let me know what part of the country you are in and we'll get you hooked up with a Dodge Ram expert ... not a dealer but someone who lives, breathes and rages...Dodge Ram!

Carlton asked: Will the 2004 2500 17" wheels fit a 1999 2500 desiel 4x4 pickup?
Thank Carlton

Desertbull says: Yes. As will the GMC H2 wheels. Check www.ebay.com for some smoking deals!

King Full Pull asked: Desert Bull, I have a 2005 Duramax diesel. My Dodge buddies will not play with me any more because I keep blowing their doors. Should I break down and buy an inferior vehicle to maintain my friendship with my Dodge friends or should I keep my Chevy and just let off a little at the end of the race to keep it close. King Full Pull

Desertbull says: Sounds to me that your name...King Full Pull is just that! Full of *%^*&$%#**.....LOL! Buy Dodge and sleep at night knowing you have the best performing truck in America! GOT JULIO?

Roy Mikitch says: I have a 2004 Dodge Ram. I am looking for some traction bars so that the truck doesn?t bunny hop in the snow a slick weather conditions of Northern Ontario. Is there a kit that you suggest.

Desertbull says: There are several solutions out there in the off-road aftermarket place and I would first contact Skyjacker's technical assistance personnel. Next you can search for a variety of different fabrication shops in your area that specialize in such products.

Big Lou asked: :Is there any way to tell the final drive gear ratio by looking at the VIN #?? (Dodge) Thanks, Much!!

Lou

Desertbull says: Not specifically. The 17 digit VIN does in fact tell you much of the basics of your truck, but it does not specify the gear ratio. However, Dodge does attached an aluminum plate onto the differential cover and it lists what the truck came with from the factory. And...it is generally listed on the Federal Label along with weight, axles etc...
