Gunslinger Action Trigger Job

Lee's Gunsmithing

- (714) 921-9030, Orange, CA I recently contacted Lee at Lee's Gunsmithing and discussed the action jobs he currently offers for Cowboy Action shooters. Lee offers a number of action jobs. Three for pistols, the Cowboy and the Gunslinger and the Plainsman (for cap & ball). They also offer action jobs for Derringers, Rifles, and Model 97 and Double shotguns. I sent him my stainless Vaquero and had the Gunslinger job done to it. This includes custom tuned springs, a trigger job, the cylinder chambers are chamfered and polished, the cylinder hand is fitted, the action is polished and hand fitted, the cylinder bolt is fitted, the forcing cone is opened, the loading gate is adjusted, the rear barrel face is trued, an the whole thing is custom timed and hand fitted. It took about two and a half weeks from the day I sent it, to get the gun back. Not a long wait for anyone who has dealt with gunsmiths in the past. To say the gun came back smooth is a gross understatement. The action is fine silk. I am greatly impressed with the overall function of the gun. I had a little problem with periodic hang-ups when cocking quickly. These are gone and the whole thing flows. That's the best way I can come up with to describe it. The action now flows in my hand. The hammer slides back smoothly and the hammer break is smooth and crisp. I have yet to get a chance to take the gun out and test how the action job will effect overall performance, but I expect great things. I will follow-up in the next week or so to let you know. What I can say is that if your looking for a top notch trigger job, give Lee a call. To add to my recommendation, check out this impressive list of top competition shooters who have had the "Lee" job:
China Camp, Durango Kid, Tutler, High Country, Bounty Hunter, Sparks, Six Gun Red, Midway, Prarie Weet, Lone Star, Roudy Yates, Poppa Joe, Marshal Law, Hank and many more. Maybe you can add your name to this impressive list in the near future. I can guarantee you that with a Lee's Gunsmithing action job, you can definitely expect your tools to be up to the challenge!
