Top 10 Off-Road Camping Essentials

9. Shower
The die-hard campers will scoff at the idea of a shower, but guys who’ve talked their lady friends or wives into camping know that any way to make the trip a little easier on them is important.

There are a number of options for camping showers. Some can mount to the back of vehicles or RVs, relying simply on a small bag of water hoisted above the person controlled by a knob to provide a quick rinse. There are some very intricate shower enclosures that offer a lot of privacy, and these enclosures can also double as a makeshift outhouse for your portable toilet.

If you don’t plan to camp where there are bathroom and shower facilities, a portable shower is an important consideration to help keep certain members of the group happy.

10. Trash Bags
Trash bags can really come in handy camping. If it starts to pour unexpectedly, they can serve as a cheap poncho. After meals, they can seal up any leftover food to prevent from attracting wild animals. Most importantly, they are where to put all the trash from the group at the end of the trip.

For those looking for something more durable for trail trash, the Trasharoo is a clever trash stow that will fit on an off-road rig’s spare tire and can hold up to 50 pounds of trash. However you do it, cleaning up as you leave the campsite is important – it keeps our trails and campsites clean and leaves the area fresh for the next person to enjoy.

Please take care of our resources and they will continue to be available to everyone.
