Recovery Shovel
Time to reward yourself for all your good work over the past year. Ace Hardware offers several sizes of spades, shovels and scoops, all of which can help you get out of a jam while on the trail. We chose this one (which as you can see is quite a bit less than 35 inches in length) because it easily fits in most Jeeps, can fit into tight spots for digging, and unless you’re working in construction you’ll appreciate its small capacity. Available at Ace Hardware stores nationwide.

PowerDrive Jump 300 Jumpstart
RoadPro’s Jumpstart rechargeable emergency system has a 12-volt power port and gets your dead battery going with 300 cold cranking amps (a reverse polarity indicator ensures correct hook-up) from a sealed lead acid battery, which can be recharged at home or in your vehicle with adapters. Jumpstart has convenient charging indicators, an LED battery level indicator, and a high-impact rubberized housing for safe and secure grip. It also has a 12-volt, 500ma transformer and an on-board outlet for powering 12-volt devices including short circuit protection. The Jumpstart includes AC and DC charging adapters and a safety on/off switch. Available at truck stops nationwide or at Amazon.com for $69.99.

Bestop HighRock 4x4 Bumpers
The Jeep Wrangler’s OEM bumper and hitch is fine for most owners, but if you want more protection, stronger support for a Hi-Lift jack, and easier trailer hitching, you’ll want to get a Bestop High Rock rear bumper. Its powder coating will last for years. Although it’s a little heavy for a mantle-mounted stocking, a Bestop bumper will give you a safer and stronger Jeep. Available at Summit Racing starting at $370.97.
