1990 KTM 540 DX/C

Nov. 01, 2005 By Press Release
KTM decided that a really big 2-stroke dirt bike would be cool! The KTM 540 DX/C was also know to some as the "European Torque Master".

Power: The strange reality behind the ‘90 KTM 540 EX/C was that the KTM 500 MX/C was just as fast! However, the 540 delivered big time, monster mind blowing loads of low and mid-range power!

Suspension: The forks and rear suspension absorbed the medium and big hits at high speeds. The suspension did not deliver slow speed cushiness. The suspension was set up for mondo speed!

Handling: The 540 was a stable bike at speed. It would corner well fairly well, but was not a quick corner cutter.

Reliability: The 540 was a reliable bike, after the owner replaced the stock ignition that would invariably blow at some point in the machines life.

Odds & Ends: The KTM 540 DX/C was an open area bike. Stay out of the tight regions. One last word of advice.

Hang on!
