Jan. 21, 2010 By Press Release
IRVINE, Calif. – The Monster Energy Kawasaki off-road team is geared up and ready to collect wins and championships during the 2010 season with an all-star line-up that will include championship racers Ricky Dietrich, Destry Abbott, and Justin Soule. The trio is set to compete in the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS), AMA EnduroCross series, and AMA Hare and Hound series in 2010.

Returning for his fourth year with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, Dietrich comes off a season of highs and lows. He started the season with a win in the WORCS series, winning a total of five times, to earn second overall. In between his off-road racing, Dietrich turned heads with his impressive motocross finishes as a replacement rider for injured racers on the Monster Energy Kawasaki motocross team. Dietrich went out on top with a win at the AMA EnduroCross season finale in Las Vegas. Dietrich is refocused and knows what he needs to do to earn his second title in both the WORCS and AMA EnduroCross series’.

Entering his 13th racing season aboard a Kawasaki motorcycle, Abbott has his eye on a record-breaking sixth AMA Hare and Hound title. After finishing second overall in 2009, his determination is greater than ever to earn back the No. 1 plate. Abbott will also compete in the WORCS series, where he finished with a career-best second place in Washington. His impressive riding was also noted abroad when he earned 11th in his class and 25th overall at the International Six-Day Enduro in Portugal.

Coming aboard the Monster Energy Kawasaki team in 2010 is Team Green™ off-road graduate Justin Soule. In his last year with Kawasaki in 2006, he earned the WORCS Pro 2 championship and has continued his success in the series with third-place overall in the pro class in 2009.

“Each rider has proven that they are a threat for race wins and championships,” said Jason Smigel, Off-Road Team Supervisor. “With our great KX™ line-up, the guys are confident and ready to make this a great year for Kawasaki.”

The short off-season will wrap-up with Abbott competing in the first round of the AMA Hare and Hound series on January 24, while the first WORCS race kicks off on January 29 in Phoenix, Ariz. with all the Monster Energy Kawasaki riders ready to chase another title.
