AMA-logo-230PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The National Defense Authorization Act of 2015 and the so-called CRomnibus spending bill, passed by both chambers of Congress last week, include provisions beneficial to riders of off-highway motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, but some new Wilderness designations may infringe on access to public lands.

The NDAA, H.R. 3979, is the comprehensive legislation to authorize the budget authority of the Department of Defense and the national security programs of the Department of Energy. The $584.2 billion bill contains more than 1,600 pages of regulations, policies and programs that authorize and govern the U.S. military.

Competitors can run each race separately, or for enthusiasts seeking to take on a longer trans-Baja Rally Raid experience, the two events can be combined to comprise the aptly named seven-day “Cortez Challenge.”

Believe it or not, tomorrow you can buy a full-blown, totally-legit Army-issued Humvee. According to a story on Yahoo, the Army Times notes that the Department of Defense will start auctioning off Humvees to the public, starting tomorrow with a small batch of vehicles but that number could be as high as 4,000 eventually. The first batch of auctions takes place tomorrow, December 17th, with each vehicle starting at a price of $10,000 (and increasing in increments of $500).

The name change is effective immediately and follows the naming convention of its global parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA), which officially adopted its new name in October when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Hot off his first win in the Twin Turbo Trophy Truck at the BlueWater Desert Challenge, Josh Daniel went in to the final race of the 2014 desert racing season with high hopes for a win at Best in the Desert’s Henderson 250.  It was apparent after the two-day battle in Parker that the crew at Danzio Performance has mastered the prep work needed for an immaculate truck come race day.  After a dominating performance the entire Henderson 250 race, Daniel underwent a seven-minute tire change with ten miles left that handed over the win to Jason Voss.  Despite finishing +00:02:10 behind Voss, Daniel plans to carry the momentum in to next season and contest Voss for the 2015 BITD points championship.
