Chevrolet might have just rolled out their new Silverado trucks but that hasn’t stopped them from doing some tinkering. Check out what they’ve in store for next month’s SEMA show.

Manufacturers have come to realize the show in Vegas is a great testing ground for future trim packages. Under the guise of concepts and prototypes, OEMs can gauge public reaction to a certain mixture of options – most of it off-the-shelf stuff – before going ahead and placing it in showrooms. This is what Chevy is doing here.

We have already learned that customers can request their dealer to amp up a High Country with the suspension from a Trail Boss package. Now, we’ll get to see what that looks like in real life with the Silverado High Country Concept (there’s that word again).

Envisioned as a premium outdoor truck, the accessorized High Country model is already on display at the State Fair of Texas. Chevrolet’s concept vision starts with a two-inch suspension lift and concept bronze exterior accents, including the grille and 22-inch wheels. Those shoes are shockingly large but are wrapped with a set of Nitto Terra Grappler A/Ts.

Meanwhile, a truck with the color-keyed RST trim (your author’s favorite of all the ’19 Chevy trucks), has also earned a 2-inch lift. Called the Silverado RST OffRoad Concept (hey, we’ve seen that word before!), it has said Yes to most of the Chevy Accessory catalog. Additions include the black sport bar, off-road assist steps, and a roll-up tonneau cover. The concept also features auxiliary lighting from Baja Designs. This is the winner of the bunch, methinks.

The High Country show truck is powered by the 6.2L V8 while the RST machine makes do with the 5.3L. Both breathe better thanks to having been fitted with GM’s cold-air system. The larger engine also gets a cat-back exhaust and jumbo brakes.

Two other trucks will join the stage: a 5.3L LTZ with intake/exhaust mods and 22s, plus another RST that’s fitted for street duty. All of the upgrades on those machines, with the possible exception of the Kicker subwoofer in the RST, are available through a GM dealer.
