2006 Honda Ridgeline Retractable Bed Cover from Applied Products, Inc.

Applied Products, Inc., Grand Forks, ND, is now offering its RETRAX ™ Retractable Truck Bed Cover for the 2006 Honda Ridgeline. Consumer demand for a retractable cover, prompted Applied Products, Inc. to develop a compatible bed cover for the Ridgeline.

For nine years, Applied Products, Inc. has manufactured and distributed its RETRAX ™ truck bed cover. The patented RETRAX ™ is unique because it is manufactured from polycarbonate, a durable thermoplastic commonly known as LEXAN®. The rigid one-piece polycarbonate sheet incorporates sealed ball-bearing rollers and it is engineered to retract or close without joints or hinges that can trap dust, wear out or freeze. Polycarbonate has excellent impact resistance and it is unaffected by sun, moisture or temperatures from -50º to +200º F. The RETRAX ™ is maintenance-free and its low-profile design has a gloss-black finish that it is UV treated for protection from the sun.

The engineers at Applied Products, Inc. utilize the same technology used in fighter jet windshields and bullet-proof glass and designed a bed cover that withstands the most rugged use. Tempered aluminum support beams imbedded into the polycarbonate sheet add strength and security. The RETRAX ™ cover can easily support heavy snow loads; this type of construction insures quiet, stable travel at any speed.

Access to the truck bed is straightforward, just release the flush-mounted latch with the touch of a button and the cover glides back and forth with just on hand – no snaps to fight with, no tarp to roll up. The RETRAX ™ can be latched or key-locked in any position along the rail to allow unlimited hauling flexibility and convenient use with a fifth-wheel trailer. Unlike toppers or lift-up fiberglass lids, the RETRAX ™ won’t obstruct the cargo area when it is needed most.

The RETRAX ™ glides back and forth with one hand. Sealed ball-bearing rollers mounted onto each end of the aluminum support beams allow the cover to retract or close easily without the use of springs or any kind of mechanism. No moving parts to jam, freeze or fail. The compact storage canister contains a unique spiral track storage system that prevents the cover from rubbing on itself as it opens and closes, helping eliminate wear and tear on the cover.
