2000 YAMAHA R-225

Yamaha's off-road family continues to produce more offspring. In 1999, Yamaha introduced the all-new electric-start four-stroke TT-R225 and TT-R250. For 2000, Yamaha introduces three all-new motorcycles, the TT-R90, TT-R125 and TT-R125L.

The 2000 line of Yamaha off-road bikes, eight models total, has machines not only for the adults, but beginners and kids' bikes, as well.

The TT-R225 joined the Yamaha family in 1999 as a bigger brother to the highly successful PW50, PW80, and RT100. The TT-R225 is a bike for family recreation, and delivers smooth power through a 223cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC engine.

Designed with both new and casual off-road riders in mind, the TT-R225 is tailor-made for a rider looking for a fun, reliable machine. The benefit of electric start simplifies the learning process, the biggest obstacle a beginner rider needs to overcome. Stall a bike and getting out of first is no problem; simply pull in the clutch hit the start button and retry.

For added confidence, a low seat height (33.6") enables most riders to easily plant both feet firmly on the ground. A wide seat, comfortable handlebar bend, roomy ergonomics and smooth transmission allow beginners to learn the basics and novices to master their skills.

A 6-speed manual transmission; front disc and rear drum brakes, long travel front (8.9"), rear (7.4") suspension and a ground clearance of over 11 inches help the rider take the bumps.
