2000 YAMAHA

THE OFF-ROAD LINE

Jan. 01, 2000 By Press Release

Yamaha's off-road family continues to produce more offspring. In 1999, Yamaha introduced the all-new electric-start four-stroke TT-R225 and TT-R250. For 2000, Yamaha introduces three all-new motorcycles, the TT-R90, TT-R125 and TT-R125L.

The 2000 line of Yamaha off-road bikes, eight models total, has machines not only for the adults, but beginners and kids' bikes, as well.

THE 2000 PW80

2000 Yamaha PW50

Taking a step up from the PW50 is the PW80, a starter bike for more skilled, or older off-roaders. The PW80 is the only model in its class with a semi-automatic clutch and a simple three-speed transmission, which teaches new riders the basics of shifting without having to use a clutch.

The PW80 is powered by a 79cc two-stroke engine. Other features include a progressive single shock rear suspension and telescopic forks for off-road performance. At 126 pounds, the PW80 is the lightest motorcycle in its class.

The PW80 is equipped with a handy grab-strap behind the seat for loading convenience and large heat shields on the engine and exhaust help to protect the rider. The bike also offers an Autolube Oil Injection system, which eliminates the hassles of premixing and has an accessible air box for easy filter maintenance.

The 2000 PW80 color scheme replicates Team Yamaha's blue and white factory works graphics and is available for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,249.
