Nokian Tyres has announced that it will reintroduce drivers to its all-terrain Outpost product family at the Overland Expo Mountain West, taking place from August 25-27, 2023, in Loveland, Colorado. The tire manufacturer will host a booth at the expo, featuring information about its Nokian Tyres Outpost nAT and APT, a tire raffle, games, giveaways, and a unique opportunity for visitors to have a tree planted on their behalf.

The Nokian Tyres Outpost nAT (New All-Terrain Tire or North America All-Terrain) is described as an aggressive all-terrain tire built for extreme situations as well as everyday use. The Outpost APT (All-Purpose-Terrain) is targeted at drivers who primarily use highways but also enjoy off-roading. These tires are exclusively sold in North America and are produced at Nokian Tyres’ North American factory in Dayton, Tennessee.

Both the Outpost nAT and APT are infused with Aramid fibers, enhancing their suitability for off-road enthusiasts. They come with a Pothole Protection warranty and are certified with the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, indicating their suitability for year-round driving, including winter conditions.

Nokian Tyres North America Director of Marketing, Hans Dyhrman, expressed excitement about sharing the benefits of the Outpost Family with overlanders, emphasizing that these tires are designed to handle the rugged North American terrain while still offering a safe and enjoyable everyday driving experience.

The company’s booth at the Overland Expo Mountain West will include:

  • Nokian Tyres representatives to answer tire-related questions
  • Scratch tickets for a chance to win prizes, including a set of tires
  • An opportunity for visitors to plant a tree as part of Nokian Tyres’ sustainability initiatives
  • Printed materials about Nokian Tyres products, including the Outpost Family
  • Games and other entertainment

The Outpost Family was initially launched in 2022, with assembly moved to North America this year. The Outpost nAT made its debut this spring, replacing the Outpost AT. While similar to its predecessor, it features a slightly altered tread pattern and sidewalls tailored to American and Canadian roads. The Outpost APT is highlighted as a versatile option for drivers of SUVs, crossovers, and small light trucks, thanks to its Aramid sidewalls and adaptable tread compound.

Nokian Tyres’ commitment to expanding its presence in North America is further demonstrated by its plan to double production at its award-winning Dayton Factory by 2024, following the hiring of 125 new team members this year.
