As we let you know last week, an electric Hummer is coming under the GMC brand. Now the rest of the world will find out, as some Hummer EV teaser videos will air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

As luck would have it, somebody got a hold of three Hummer EV teaser videos and shared them on YouTube. You can check them out for yourselves below.

While we don’t actually get to see the new Hummer (apparently that will happen on May 20, 2020), we did learn some info from the teaser videos. As you would expect from the Hummer name, you can expect some big performance. How big? Really big. Specifically, 1000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Throw in a claimed 0-60 time of 3 seconds, and that is some impressive performance.

Compared to gas-powered trucks, the electric Hummer’s 1000 horsepower dwarfs them all. The electric Rivian  R1T truck (not yet released) has a claimed 750 horsepower. Unfortunately, we don’t have any estimated horsepower numbers for the Tesla Cybertruck.

And the 11,500 lb-ft of torque listed in the video seems like it might be a typo. To put that number in perspective, the Ford Super Duty produces a class leading 935 lb-ft. If that number is true (and we are not 100% sure that it is), the Hummer EV could drastically change what people think is possible from a truck.

That is about all the information we were able to glean from the three 15-second teaser videos. We did get a look at the front end, but most everything is in shadows until the May 20 release besides the grille, headlights and part of the bumper.

So…now that the Hummer EV is official, what do you think? Will this be an electric truck worthy of off-roaders?
