If you want more ground clearance and larger tires on your Tacoma to better handle serious off-road terrain, you need to invest in a Toyota Tacoma lift kit. We’ve done the research to show you which Tacoma lift kits are worthy of your time and money.

Before you sink your hard-earned dollars into a lift kit, you’ll want to make sure that you carefully research its specifications. With the evolution of the Tacoma since its debut in 1995, Toyota Tacoma lift kit offerings are far from universal. This means that you’ll need to make sure that the kit you’re looking at is compatible with your Tacoma.

What’s more, some Toyota Tacoma lift kit options are fairly basic only using spacers (adding two or three inches in height), while other kits offer a more complete suspension overhaul and can add far more lift to your Tacoma. If you’re not looking for a suspension improvement and only want increased lift to clear larger tires, the basic spacer lift may be exactly what you’re looking for. Now if you’re looking for increased ride height, suspension travel and strength, you’ll be wanting a kit that includes components like shocks, springs, knuckles, etc that provide the performance that you’re looking for. The downfall? The more parts you get, the higher the price tag.

Whichever kit you desire, we’ve done the work in finding some of the best tacoma lift kit options available on the market.

1. Editor's Choice: Supreme Suspensions Spacer/Block 3 Inch Lift Kit

Supreme Suspension Toyota Tacoma Lift Kit

2. Alternate Spacer/Block Lift Kit: ReadyLift 69-5212 Lift Kit

ReadyLift Toyota Tacoma Lift Kit

The ReadyLift 69-5212 serves to lift the front and rear of your Tacoma, just like Supreme Suspensions’ kit. If you’re in the market for a Toyota Tacoma 3-inch lift kit, ReadyLift’s kit will serve you well.

ReadyLift is one of the better-rated Toyota Tacoma lift kits available, making it a solid investment that you can count on to perform well. This particular kit lifts the front end by three inches and the rear by two inches, allowing you to install larger tires and improve ground clearance.

What’s more, you can go even bigger once this kit is successfully installed on your Tacoma. If you’ve been dreaming of upgrading to larger tires, ReadyLift’s kit will make it a reality. In fact, this kit makes it possible to go as big as wheels with 8-inch widths and 5-inch backspacing.

You will appreciate that ReadyLift’s Toyota Tacoma lift kit is designed with steel upper strut extensions. Once installed, it feels incredibly secure. You can also look forward to the alignment in your control arm and strut being perfect.

Even if you aren’t familiar with installing lift kits, you shouldn’t have much trouble with ReadyLift’s kit. In just a couple hours or so, you should be able to have your Tacoma up and running.

What is even more impressive is that you get a 5-year (60,000-mile) warranty on parts if you have a professional service install the kit for you.

This one’s a little higher-priced than Supreme Suspensions’ Toyota Tacoma lift kit, but it’s still reasonable.

3. Best Budget Friendly Lift: Orion Motor Tech Leveling Lift Kit

Orion Motor Tech Toyota Tacoma Lift Kit

Lift kits aren’t exactly cheap, although you can find some really great bargains if you know where to look. That’s why we just had to include Orion Motor’s Toyota Tacoma 3-inch lift kit. Like the ReadyLift kit, this one from Orion hoists the front end by three inches and the rear by two inches.

This is another full lift kit, providing lift on both the front and rear of your Tacoma. But what is most impressive about this package is that it costs a fraction of what you would typically pay for a full lift kit.

Bottom line; it is very unlikely that you will find a better full Toyota Tacoma lift kit for the money. Now you can safely and effectively lift your Tacoma’s front and rear at an affordable price.

Price is nice, but the quality is what matters the most. So, how does this kit stand among the rest? Quite well, in fact. It is made from solid 2×3-inch and 2×2-inch aircraft billet and is CNC machined. As such, you can trust that you are investing in a highly-durable Toyota Tacoma lift kit that will hold its own among the big dogs.

The engineering is impressive, to say the least. What’s more, it is incredibly easy to work with. You should be able to install this kit on your own without much trouble.

And, it is compatible with Tacomas between the years of 2005 and 2019, so you shouldn’t have any worries with the installation. All of the necessary components are included, and the directions are well laid out for easy comprehension.

4. Best Suspension Performance Improvement: Rough Country 6” Lift Kit

Rough Country Lift Kit

If you are looking for more than a basic spacer kit and need a complete suspension overhaul, look no further than this offering from Rough Country.

Rough Country is a premium off-road brand and has a well-earned reputation for suspension components. This particular Toyota Tacoma lift kit provides a whopping six inches of lift for 2005-2015 model years.

This premium kit comes standard with N3 lifted struts, N3 shock absorbers, high-clearance crossmember, fabricated blocks designed to offer more strength and last longer than cast blocks, front and rear skid plates, differential drop brackets, steering stops, bumpstop extensions, sway bar relocation brackets, and all the hardware you need to put it together.

As this is a far intense upgrade, Rough Country recommends seeing a certified technician for installation. However, if you have all the necessary tools and equipment and are handy in the garage, Rough Country has a number of install videos to show you the way.

5. Best Intermediate Kit: WULF 3” Lift Kit

WULF Toyota Tacoma Lift Kit

Sitting in the middle ground between the full suspension reboot of the Rough Country kit and one of the more basic spacer kits we discussed above is the WULF Toyota Tacoma 3-inch lift kit.

WULF has kits designed to fit 1994-2004 and 2005-2020 Tacomas and comes with a three-in front strut leveling kit, differential drop kit, 3-inch rear lift blocks, extended U bolts, and extended rear WULF nitrogen shocks.

If a 3-inch lift is more than you are looking for, WULF has 1-, 1.5- and 2-inch rear block options available.

How do I know which kit I need?

What are you looking to do with your Tacoma? If you’re just wanting to give your Taco a more aggressive look and style with some larger tires for those trips to the grocery store or mall, then one of the basic spacer/block lifts will be good for you. These don’t provide any improvement or increase in suspension performance, but they’ll give you a higher stance and more clearance for larger tires. Just how large? Well, our best recommendation is to go to your local tire shop and have them do some test fitting to see how big you can safely go without rubbing.

If you’re taking your Taco off-road, you’ll appreciate a complete kit that can give you increased height for obstacle clearance, increased tire clearance, and more suspension travel to soak up the bumps.

How much is a lift kit for a Toyota Tacoma?

If you are comfortable with doing the installation yourself, getting two or three inches of extra lift out of your Tacoma is a surprisingly affordable modification.

We’ve found kits starting at as little as $80, though if you are swapping out shocks, struts and other suspension components, you can expect to pay quite a bit more – well over $1000.

Of course, most of us put on a lift kit because we want bigger tires and that is where the rear cost lies. A good set of off-road tires can cost hundreds of dollars more than a lift kit.
