Are Waterproof Jeep Seat Covers Important?

Not all Jeep seat covers are waterproof, but should they be? Natural leather looks and feels as good or better than anything, but it’s probably not what you want if you like to drive in the rain or take your Jeep in the mud. The good news is that you can get all of these seat covers made in waterproof material. Neoprene might be our favorite for keeping water from soaking into the seat, but it’s probably not the nicest material to look at. For a great mix of function and aesthetics, we are big fans of Bestop’s Jeep seat covers that we mentioned earlier. Those seat covers should also do a better job of protecting against stains than some of the neoprene options. Of course, if you happen to live in the arid southwest where rain is highly unlikely, waterproof seat covers may not be all that important.

Is one seat cover material better than another?

The answer to this question really depends on the owner. Most every seat cover offering is either waterproof or water resistant, some are more prone to wear under certain conditions. Take neoprene for example. This is a softer material that could be more susceptible to snags or maybe tearing but it has a softer, more comfortable feel than polyester or other fabrics like Cordura. What it comes down to is how much comfort you want in your seat cover.
