What has gobs of horsepower, a custom cage, and an outrageously big handbrake? A pair of Can-Am Mavericks fettled for Ken Block, of course!

Any time Ken Block is involved in a project, you know the results are going to be equal parts lairy speed and over-the-topiary details. We’ve all seen the Hoonicorn and the too-great Hoonitruck. Now, Can-Am has gotten into the mix with a brace of Maverick X3 builds for the one-and-only Block, Hoonigan Racing, and the Gymkhana viral video series.

These blacked-out Can-Am dirt-and-sand shredders are built with tools and tuning to match Block’s driving style. Check out the awesome oversize handbrake lever that has been fitted, a touch that’s become a hallmark of any Block build.

Teaming up with the boffins at S3 Power Sports, two Mavericks were built: an X3 MAX X rs and an X3 X rs. It is at this time your author is reflecting on just now many letters Can-Am has appended to the Maverick name since its introduction. At this rate, the model designation will soon be longer than the rig.

I digress. In addition to specialized A-arms and billet aluminum radius rods, a custom cage and custom front bumper were fabbed up to weather Block’s signature brand of hoonery. We feel the need to mention that handbrake again because it is so cool.

This isn’t the first time Ken and co. teamed up with Can-Am to create some great machines and fantastic video. For Gymkhana 10, the Hoonigan team closed the streets of Guanajuato to lay rubber where few Maverick X3s have gone before.

While this build certainly is epic, S3 Power Sports has made plenty of other custom rides for their customers. Be sure to check some of them out along with a few of their helpful how-to videos.
