Polaris makes plenty of machines for play. With the Pro XD line, they also make a few for work.

The Pro XD line is comprised three diesel-powered models that are built to withstand the tough duty cycles and abuse hurled at them on worksites. Boasting impressive payload and towing capabilities, they’re tailored to the commercial working customer.

“We listened, learned, and leveraged our nearly 65 years in this business and now we’re delivering the absolute best new UTV optimized for work,” said John Olson, vice president and general manager of Polaris Commercial. “These new vehicles will deliver huge value to our hard-working customers in the rental, construction, commercial and government sectors.”

At least your tax dollars will, quite literally, put to work. The Pro XD has a max payload of 2075lbs, enough to haul even the most long-winded bill through the halls of Congress. Or, a like amount of drywall, rocks, and construction tools. Towing is rated at 2500 lbs. The rigs offered are the two-passenger Pro XD 2000D available in either two- or all-wheel drive, plus the four-passenger Pro XD 4000D available in all-wheel drive only.

A liquid-cooled Kubota industrial diesel three-banger provides the motivation, measuring 900cc in displacement. Power is rated at just 24.5 horses but the its mountains of torque is responsible for getting the job done in this application. Top speed is a jobsite-appropriate 26mph and can be limited to 15mph if folks in the white hard hats feel drivers are getting too unruly.

Maintenance intervals of 200 hours keep downtime to a minimum while non-directional 26-inch tires allow for nighttime rubber replacement without having to worry about what way the thing is pointing. In a nod to practicality, high-vis color was added to the seat belts. Not gonna lie – I want those belts for the High Lifter models.

These aren’t wide machines, at least compared to other Polaris rigs like the XP Turbo 4. Both the two and four passenger units measure 62.5 inches in width and 75 inches high. The smaller Pro XD is 126 inches long; adding a second row of seating appends 31 inches to that measure.

The so-called Work Package is available with a full cab system. Airtight gasket seals and moisture channels on the cab should keep all hands relatively comfy. Injection molded plastic and tempered safety glass should pass the bash test from stray rocks and tools on the jobsite.
