Joining forces with Cleveland Browns alum Joe Thomas, Polaris is creating a campaign to assist wounded heroes in their recovery.

The program is an extension of a Polaris initiative called Heroes Hunt. In it, Polaris and retired NFL offensive tackle Thomas teamed with a a group of wounded and disabled veterans. The goal of the Heroes Hunt is to raise awareness and funding for LEEK Hunting & Mountain Preserve. Committed to the recovery of the nation’s veterans, the non-profit LEEK provides an outdoor retreat for wounded warriors and their families by using hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation as a means of rehabilitation.

Utilizing Ranger side-by-sides to get around the 400 acres of property, the Heroes Hunt included nine wounded veterans, representing the U.S. Army and Marine Corps branches, who participated in six hunts over three days.

With the help of this Heroes Hunt campaign, LEEK aims to raise $100,000 to support the expansion of their Dunham Hall, a space which provides lodging and meeting rooms for veterans and their families.

“We couldn’t be more honored to partner with Polaris RANGER and Joe Thomas this Veteran’s Day to kick off our fundraising efforts,” said Ed Fisher, founder of LEEK Hunting & Mountain Preserve. “Our goal is to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten and provide a therapeutic environment for healing with their fellow servicemen and servicewomen.”

To jump start the campaign, Polaris donated the first $25,000 along with three new 2019 RANGER XP 1000s. One of the vehicles was retrofitted with hand paddles to assist disabled veterans and allow them to participate in hunts on the property regardless of their current physical status.

The campaign kicks-off November 8th and runs until November 30th. Those who donate will be entered for a chance to win a 2019 Ranger XP 1000. For more information, visit the Heroes Hunt website.
