The off-road specific rig built in America will be on display at this year’s SEMA show in Vegas. That’s also the most capital letters we’ve ever used in a headline.

At SEMA, Mahindra will be showing off their 2019 model year versions of the Roxor, while also taking the opportunity to highlight its customizability. It’s a safe bet there will be multiple copies of the Roxor that have said ‘Yes’ to the entire accessory catalog.

“The entire team at [Mahindra] are beyond pleased to see the incredible amount of excitement and interest for our ROXOR line-up in just the initial six months. Bringing the first turbo-diesel side-by-side to the market with a boxed steel frame and unlimited opportunities for customization, creates a new sub-segment in SXS industry,” said Rich Ansell, vice president of marketing for Mahindra Automotive North America. “We’re looking forward to showing everyone at the SEMA Show what we have in store for 2019.”

Expect to see all manner of Mahindra accessories at SEMA, ranging from burly winches to knobby tires. Bikini tops and frontal masks have already been mentioned and sound like big fun until you realize they are only meant for the Roxor.

Ansell isn’t exaggerating when he states that their machine is creating a new sub-segment in the side-by-side world. Powered by a 2.5-liter turbodiesel, the Roxor deploys an automotive-style five-speed manual with an honest-to-real clutch pedal. Both items are unique in the powersports category.

It’s great to learn Mahindra will be at SEMA in full force with its Roxor. An army of working for FCA have tried to argue against the sale of the Roxor in America, citing the fact it looks too much like a traditional Jeep and customers may get them confused. What these bottom-feeding ambulance-chasers conveniently forget to mention is that the Roxor and Wrangler target very different customers, not to mention one is specifically designated for off-road use only. There is also the little matter of Mahindra holding agreements allowing them to build rigs in the general shape of a Jeep, a matter stretching back decades.

Attendees making the slog to SEMA will be able to see Roxor rigs at two separate booths, one in the South Hall and one out in the Silver Lots. There will also be a hauler parked outside will have a bunch on display as well. There is no doubt that other Roxor models will be shown in various other vendor booths throughout the show.

SEMA takes place from October 30th – November 2nd at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
