The annual Barrett-Jackson auction soirée in Vegas always attracts folks with deep pockets. This year was no different.

Collector tastes are slowly changing. Not long ago, a Hemi ‘Cuda Convertible traded in the seven figure range. Desirable shoebox Tri-Five Chevys weren’t far off that sum, either. Sale prices have come down from those breathtaking financial heights for a number of reasons, including the economic crash nearly ten years ago.

Another reason? New buyers are in the market. And, as it turns out, some of them really like off-road trucks. Here are a few of our picks from the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Las Vegas in late September. All prices shown include the buyer’s fee.

Lot #356 – 1966 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser:  $39,050

This freshly restored unit included a factory hardtop over a custom-fitted roll bar. Powered by a 350 V8 backed by a TH350 automatic transmission, it also had the factory jack mounted above its front bumper. Viper Red paint coupled with 17″ custom wheels on Nitto all-terrain tires look good. Performance parts included a ProComp Eliminator intake, Edelbrock 650 carburetor, B&M Z-Gate shifter, custom driveshaft, headers, and MagnaFlow mufflers.

Lot #474 – 1971 Chevrolet Blazer K5: $60,500

This K5 was fully restored with a few modern touches, such as Dakota Digital dash gauges and Bluetooth radio for hands-free driving. The interior looks sharp with a clean blue-and-white checked pattern. It sported a Vortex 383ci stroker engine said to produce 430hp. Additional added items on this jacked-up blue beauty riding on BFG’sbl include the LED side lights and halo headlights.

Lot #384 – 1984 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado Edition: $18,700

Looking like a time-capsule, this 35 year old truck was powered by an H-code 5.0-liter V8 engine with 4-barrel carb. It’s a 4×4 with power steering and power brakes. This Blazer also features a roof rack, rear spoiler, removable hardtop, chrome step-up bar, and the original Uniroyal steel-belted spare tire. New Hankook Dynapro ATMs are on 15″ 6-lug American Racing Outlaw II alloy wheels.

Lot #389.1 – 1969 Ford Bronco 4×4: $57,200

This was one clean truck. It underwent a custom restoration and was finished in a brilliant color scheme of Alloy Black on the top and Gunmetal Gray on the bottom. Inside was an 8-point cage and roll bar. Underneath were all kinds of goodies including a new T-Style linkage, 5.5” Level 1 suspension lift kit, 1” body lift, and FloPro exhaust. A winch was shrewdly hidden up front. It rolled on new chrome wheels and powered by a Ford 302ci engine mated to a 4-speed stick.
