America’s longest off-road race wrapped up this past weekend, with hundreds of competitors taking on the desert challenge from Vegas-to-Reno.

Johnny Angal of Mesa, AZ brought his #63 Trick Truck across the line with a time of eight hours and eighteen minutes (08:18:31.651 to be precise). Following closely behind was Jason Voss with a time differential of less than a minute. Any Mcmillin rounded out the Trick Truck top three.

In UTVs, Phil Blurton took overall honors and his second Vegas-to-Reno win in a turbocharged Can-Am with a time of just under ten hours and twenty-five minutes. That was actually ahead of a couple of mighty Trick Trucks, underscoring the performance being levied by these turbocharged UTVs.

Polaris RZR Factory Racing also continued its success this past weekend, claiming a podium by Jacob Carver who finished second in Pro UTV Turbo Class, just barely a minute behind Blurton, after starting tenth and making quick work of the vehicles in front of him.

Carver and his Polaris led the majority of miles in the class when, with only six miles to go, he caught a slower vehicle. Hitting a rock while navigating this rolling chicane damaged a wheel, forcing a repair and putting him just barely in second place when taking the checkered flag. This effort pushes the Polaris group to 31 wins and 85 podiums over the course of the 2018 season.

Remarkably, fifteen-year-old Seth Quintero took 2nd in his first ever Vegas to Reno Pro UTV NA class, followed closely by Kaden Wells. At fifteen, your author was still trying to figure out Super Nintendo.

Turbo UTVs get a lot of ink, but there were also 38 naturally-aspirated competitors. Young Seth was one of them, taking second in his Polaris RZR XP1000. The winner actually started dead last, as racing veteran Ray Bulloch wheeled the Textron Wildcat XX up through the field and to the lead. After the race, Bulloch stated that the machine competed with a stock motor, suspension, and cage. Kaden Wells in a Polaris RZR XP4 1000 finished third in class.
