2019-Suzuki-Jimny-Leak-4

Official images of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny have surfaced ahead of the tough little off-roader’s debut early next month.

Suzuki Global posted the images on its website this week along with a brief description of the rugged mini-SUV.

“There are places in the world only the Jimny can go,” the automaker said on its website. “Overcome muddy pits, manoeuvre through dense woods, conquer massive rocks with this small off-roader that knows what true toughness is. Chosen time and time again by those who share its spirit. The Jimny — always shaping new frontiers.”

While official details on the 2019 Jimny have yet to be released, we know the vehicle will feature a ladder type body-on-frame platform. Rumors point to a 660cc engine being offered, along with a larger 1.5-liter unit, which will be paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. The interior images also show a rather well-appointed cabin with a center stack touchscreen and a multi-function steering wheel. We even hear it will feature cruise control! Talk about fancy.

The 2019 Jimny will be revealed in full on July 5th. It won’t be coming to North America, which is really rather unfortunate, as we think this miniature SUV would have no trouble at all appealing to budget-minded, millennial American consumers with a penchant for the outdoors.

We’ll have full details on this sturdy and unstoppable offering when they become available, so stay tuned for more info.
