Leading up to the 50th annual BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000, 35 of the 900-horsepower Trophy Trucks are headed to Las Vegas for a qualifying event on October 31st.

As you may recall, starting positions for all classes except Trophy Trucks is determined by draw. That event will take place on November 1st. Trophy Trucks, the beasts of the desert, get their own deal in a colorful prelude to the actual race.

A total of 32 of the 39 SCORE Trophy Trucks entered in the Baja have confirmed participation in the optional qualifying for starting positions within their respective classes. Both SCORE TT Legend trucks (Trophy Trucks with drivers at least 50 years old) have also signed on for the Vegas event. SCORE rules require that whoever drives for qualifying must also start the race.

Part of the massive SCORE Baja 1000 event during SEMA, there will also be an hour-long autograph session starting at 1:30pm (PT). Every single one of the qualifying trucks will fire up their engines in unison at 3:30pm (PT) to begin their travel on the streets of Vegas in a police-escorted procession from the Las Vegas Convention Centre to the LVMS Off-Road Track. Bring earplugs. It will be glorious.

“We can’t thank SEMA enough for again providing SCORE with this incredible opportunity to once again showcase SCORE and the world’s greatest desert racers,” said Roger Norman, CEO/President of SCORE. “And the special SCORE Baja 1000 Qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a great opportunity for many industry leaders and race fans to get a glimpse of these amazing race trucks and talented teams.”
