Carl-Renezeder-Lucas-Oil-Off-Road-4-26-2017
Chandler, AZ
– Carl Renezeder shocked the short course world when he announced that 2017 would be his final season of racing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. If his competitors thought that would give them the edge, they were wrong. He may be hanging up his helmet at the end of the season, but he hasn’t slowed down at all. He showed up to race for the first two rounds this season at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona. He placed second on Saturday and went even faster to take the win on Sunday.

Concentrating on Pro-4, Carl’s goals this season are to have fun, celebrate his fans, and see how fast he can go in his #17 Lucas Oil Products / BFGoodrich Tires truck. He has been a constant fixture on the podium and in championship battles in Pro-4 and Pro-2 for decades. He has 9 championships, (nearly capturing his tenth last season when he finished in a tie for points with Kyle LeDuc) and his victory on Sunday puts his short course win tally at 122. He will be interesting to watch this season since he will be effectively un-chained to run as hard as he likes.

“We revised the rear suspension in the off season so we didn’t really know how hard we could push the truck,” said Carl, “We can push it hard; it took everything we threw at it. We are concentrating on Pro-4 this season because I love driving these trucks. Pro-4 is more controlled but aggressive and fast. Our goals are to go fast and have fun. That’s the reason I started racing in the first place. It’s been tough saying goodbye to the fans. Some of them are upset and some even got emotional. It’s nice to see that it means as much to them as it has to me. My wife has plans for some special commemorative memorabilia so it’s going to be a fun year. We had a great time in Chandler and are looking forward to the next rounds in Mexico. The Ensenada track is sandy and long; it’s more of a desert track but I like it!”

You won’t want to miss out on watching Carl race live this season. He will be going flat out this season and pegging the fun meter too. The next two rounds will be held May 20 – 21 at    Estero Beach Resort in Ensenada, Baja Mexico. For more information on Carl and the entire TR17 team go to: http://www.teamrenezeder.com/.
