– The Mod Kids USA Challenge Cup was recently announced for the end of this year’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in late October at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, AZ.

“We’re delighted to announce the Mod Kids USA Challenge Cup for this year’s Modified Kart class at the end of the season.” said Ritchie Lewis, director of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. “We’re also happy to be working alongside Media Rocka on their production. The kids are having so much fun and the guys are doing a great job shining the light on the future stars of our sport. We look forward to the film’s release.”

Two years in the making, the Mod Kids USA film is slated for release in the first quarter of 2017. “We did an extensive search across numerous race series to locate what we felt was the most exciting and significant class on which to base our film,” said Chris James, senior executive producer of Media Rocka, “The enthusiasm for Modified Kart racing has never been greater. We are very pleased to put our name on the final race of the season. The Mod Kids USA Challenge Cup race is not for points; it’s for bragging rights and throwing down the gauntlet for the 2017 season.”

Media Rocka has been documenting the 2016 race season with mod kart racers Mia Chapman, Trey Gibbs, Christopher Polvoorde, Nathan Barry, Cole Keatts, Chris Nunes, and Brody Eggleston for a film project, leading to an episodic series in 2017. Modified Kart racing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series has been energizing race fans of all ages for years. It has launched the careers of many drivers who have stepped right into professional racing while still in their teens. While watching a Mod Kart race you are witnessing future champions in the making.

Modified Karts are extremely fast; their lap times rival those of other full sized classes competing on the track. The competitiveness shown by the drivers is as intense as ever. Interest in Mod Karts has helped Mod Kids USA achieve over 1 million video views, and 6+ million impressions from their social media efforts in just 4 months. The Mod Kids USA Facebook page has 40 thousand followers and climbing. Corporate America is also starting to take notice with support for Mod Kids USA.

The Mod Kids USA Challenge Cup race will take place after the final rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series on Oct 23 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, AZ. With no points to worry about – the action will be non-stop. You can bet that some of the cup footage captured by the film crew will make it into the final cut.
