Toyo-Tire-Safety-Week-5-37-16
If you weren’t aware that National Tire Safety Week then you’re not alone. Fortunately Toyo Tires is in the business of knowing all things tire safety, and so they’ve produced a new video series highlighting important safety reminders and tire tips to check out before hitting the road this holiday weekend.

Toyo produced four different videos, including:  How to Check Your Tire Pressure, How to Check Tire Tread Depth, How to Inspect Tire Wear, and How to Read Your Tire Sidewall. You can check them all out if you head over to toyotires.com/tires-101 or Toyo’s YouTube site, but we decided to include the video on reading your sidewalls below:

According to a press release from Toyo, the National Tire Safety Week runs from May 29 to June 4th, 2016, and is presented by the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association (RMA). The goal of the “safety week” is to educate motorists about tire safety and maintenance. The RMA cites that a mere 17 percent of drivers properly check their tire pressure, and as us off-roaders know, a under-inflated tires on the highway are unsafe and can hinder on-road fuel economy – RMA says under-inflation wastes up to 1.2 billion gallons of fuel annually.

“Your tires are one of your key assets for the safe enjoyment of your vehicle, especially during the holiday travel season,” said Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.  “With the summer months soon approaching, it is wise to check your tires with the help of our new videos or stop by your local tire dealer for a safety check.”
