BFGoodrich Tires and its stable of short course off road racers are poised to continue on the success of last year’s championships in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The season begins this weekend at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz.

Last season the tire company claimed two class season championships and 25 total race wins, including titles in the Pro 2 and Pro Lite classes. Additionally, drivers on BFGoodrich Tires placed second and third in the Pro 4 class and swept the top three in Pro 2 at season’s end. The Lucas Oil Off Road Series brings more tire competitors than any other motorsports discipline that BFGoodrich is involved in, which stresses innovative and ongoing tire development and support.

BFGoodrich will once again bring unparalleled support to its racers including customized carving of its All-Terrain T/A KR2 race tire, providing revolutionary toughness and flexibility designed to maximize performance in all conditions. The personalized carving program allows racers to work with BFGoodrich Tire professionals to create the tire best for the track conditions and racer preference.

The Pro Lite class drivers will be outfit with the DOT production BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires, designed for hard cornering and reliable performance in the differing conditions.

The collection of championship drivers relying on BFGoodrich Tires once again rivals the competition in this series. Leading the charge this year once again are BFGoodrich Performance Team members RJ Anderson (2015 Pro Lite Champion), Casey Currie, Rob MacCachren (2015 Pro 2 champion) and Bryce Menzies (2016 Pro 2 second place).  Additional racers include Patrick Clark, whose promising third place finish in Pro 2 last season has him ready to push for a title.

“We’ve gotten that Pro 2 Championship a few times over the years and we definitely want to repeat that and get our fourth overall,” said MacCachren.”Competition in Pro 2 and Pro 4 is stronger than ever and some racers had record years last year. We are looking to go from second in points to first. Consistently is definitely the key to winning a championship. You have to know when it’s your day and when it’s not and limit your mistakes. BFGoodrich has a lot of great players and can realistically win a Pro 2, Pro 4 and Pro Lite championship this year.”

An addition to this year’s pack of BFGoodrich Tires racers will be former Pro 2 and Pro 4 class champion Carl Renezeder. The short course racing legend has more than 100 career wins under his belt and joins the strong collection of competitors depending on BFGoodrich Tires seeking race wins and titles. “I started my racing career with BFGoodrich and I’m really excited for the opportunity of returning to my original partnership with the brand,” said Renezeder.

“BFGoodrich took an aggressive approach last year and it paid off with more wins than ever in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series,” said Peter Calhoun, BFGoodrich Tires motorsports manager. “We are not about to let off the throttle this year. We have a strong group of racers returning including Bryce Menzies, Rob MacCachren and RJ Anderson and the inclusion of Carl Renezeder into the team has us poised for even more success this season.
