Editor’s Note: The Trail Political Action Committee has offered its suggestion for voting for Ron Johnson to support off-road access. See their complete letter below.

Dear Trail Voter,

The Trail PAC (Trail Political Action Committee) works to elect federal candidates who will support legislation and policy promoting and protecting responsible off-highway vehicle recreation on public and private lands.   Trail PAC is proud to announce its official endorsement and support for Ron Johnson running for re-election to the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.

Jay Vanderloop, a powersports dealer and outdoor recreationist, states, “Senator Ron Johnson understands how the anti-access regulatory agenda of federal agencies can impact OHV-based businesses and user groups.  Senator Johnson has worked hard to support the common sense regulatory reform in the ROV In-Depth Examination Act, S1040.”

S1040, more commonly known as the RIDE Act, would require the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to postpone proposed mandates for off-road, side-by-side vehicles (ROVs) until those proposals have been studied and evaluated by government scientific organizations.  That legislation followed the CPSC’s rejection of a bipartisan Senate request that the CPSC work cooperatively with the ROV industry and other stakeholders.

Senator Johnson states, “It is the job of Congress to exercise its oversight authority when overreaching regulations are proposed that could devastate an important industry that provides high quality recreation products enjoyed by millions of outdoor enthusiasts throughout the country.  I will continue to support efforts to ensure that regulations are both appropriate and science-based.”

TPAC believes this contest is critical to help us retain our pro-trail majority in the U.S. Senate.  TPAC wants to join forces with Jay Vanderloop and other pro-trail voters in Wisconsin in an effort to send Johnson back to Washington D.C. on November 8.

Ron Johnson is TPAC’s 2nd officially endorsed senate race in the 2016 election cycle.

TPAC wants to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you who are supporting our efforts in 2016.

Thanks again for your continued support in the 2016 presidential election.  You are making a difference!
