BFGoodrich spent plenty of time testing the KR2s down in Baja.

With the weight of the world on his shoulders, Brandon Schueler and his Jagged X Racing Team claim 2nd place in the 2015 SCORE Baja 1000 and clinch the 2015 title racing on the new BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2 UTV tire provided by Jackson Motorsports Group.

“I may not be a math whiz, but I can figure out that a four-point margin between the top three UTV teams going into the 2015 Baja 1000 was too close for comfort,” said Schueler prior to the start of the final SCORE race of the year.

An incredibly tight points battle and the standard stresses that go along with competing in the most grueling off-road event of the season were not all Schueler had on his mind as he took the green flag in Ensenada last week. This would be the last green flag he would see as an expectant father. With a wife at home ready to give birth any day, Schueler’s race day strategy would see him run the first 285 of this year’s total 827 miles in his Polaris RZR XP 1000 and then speed back to the USA in a chase truck to meet up with her to watch the clock tick down the minutes until the next green flag dropped in his life.

Starting the race from the 19th position, Schueler was able to charge up into the third physical position before handing the race car over to his capable Jagged X team members. As expected, they continued to run up front for the rest of the race, securing a second-place finish in the Pro UTV class with a total elapsed time of 22 hours and 25 minutes. This finish, along with a win at the inaugural SCORE Baja Sur 500, a 3rd at the SCORE Baja 500 and San Felipe 250, was exactly what the team needed to win the 2015 SCORE Pro UTV Points Championship.

“The KR2 UTV tire is the very best tire we have ever used,” Schueler said in a post race interview. “We want to thank BFGoodrich and Jackson Motorsports Group for believing in us and in the sport of UTV racing.

Jackson Motorsports Group has been a proud sponsor of the Jagged X Racing team for most of the 2015 racing season. “We chose Jagged X to debut the new BFG KR2 UTV tire earlier this year, because we believed their approach to racing aligned perfectly with BFGoodrich’s approach to building race tires,” said Ryan Thomas, a spokesperson for Jackson Motorsports Group. “We couldn’t be happier for Brandon and his race team and are excited to meet the newest member of their team when she arrives any day now.”

Jackson Motorsports is the exclusive provider for BFGoodrich Tires’ non-DOT off-road race tires, and is excited to offer the new Baja T/A KR2 UTV tire as part of our portfolio.
