Cameron-Steele-Baja-1000-BFGoodrich-11-20-15
Veteran desert racer Cameron Steele has made the move to BFGoodrich Tires for this year’s 2015 Bud Light SCORE Baja 1000. Steele, an off-road champion and television personality, will enter this year’s race with BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2 tires equipped on his No. 16 Desert Assassin Trophy Truck, and he plans to continue running BFGoodrich Tires next season for his desert race schedule.

“For me and my family this is a big switch for us,” Steele said. “It’s great to be with a company with so much heritage. You see many of your fellow drivers that you’ve grown up with and won races who are on a product they trust. This move to BFGoodrich Tires gives our program a big boost and for me, it gives me that feeling of knowing there is a huge amount of technical development behind me and a lot of confidence comes with that.”

Steele has 25 overall class wins in the Baja peninsula including a class win in the SCORE Baja 1000.  Steele qualified 10th overall in the Trophy Truck class for the Baja 1000.

“Cameron has been a fixture in off-road racing for many years through a dynamic and aggressive approach to his discipline,” said Peter Calhoun, BFGoodrich Tires motorsports manager. “He continues to be a true ambassador for the sport and we feel confident his move to BFGoodrich Tires will have him fighting for titles as well.”

Additionally, Cameron’s wife, Heidi, a seasoned off-road racer herself, will also be running BFG’s Baja T/A KR2 race tires on her No. 14 Trophy Truck. Heidi Steele will be co-driving this year’s 1000 with Cody Parkhouse and Brian Parkhouse.
