Primm, Nevada (July 9, 2015) — This Sunday, a 2-hour TV special on The Polaris RZR Mint 400, the toughest off-road race in America, will air on NBC as part of the Red Bull Signature Series at 2:30pm EST/11:30am PST. Each year, the bright lights and sounds of the world famous Las Vegas Strip are temporarily drowned out by the roar of 850 horsepower trucks roaring across the desert at speeds nearing 140 miles per hour.  From bone jarring terrain to high speed passes, exasperating equipment failure to spectacular rollovers, The Mint 400 is the premiere American off-road race that draws fans of all ages, celebrities and the top drivers in the world.

After celebrating all week in downtown Las Vegas, competitors have relocated to the desert landscape of Primm, Nevada for the start of The Mint 400, the most prestigious off-road race in America. Nearly 60 Unlimited Class trucks have shown up to compete in the event which first started back in 1967. This year there is a new course, switching it up from last year’s 100-mile/4 lap circuit, to a 130-mile/3 lap circuit. The Unlimited trucks, the very best off-road vehicles on the planet with their 36-inches of suspension travel, now have to travel even farther than last year in between pit stops, all the while with the punishing wasteland taking its toll on truck and driver. The only thing standing between the green and checkered flags are the rocks, sand, silt and the scorching desert sun of the Mojave Desert. By the time it’s all over, racers will cross the finish line under the cover of darkness.

Sal Masekela, the definitive voice in action sports, hosts the Red Bull Signature Series show that is now in its fourth year on NBC. The Polaris RZR Mint 400 is brought to a national NBC audience in partnership with Pennzoil Synthetics, GoPro, and Samsung Milk Video.
