—  As teams and crews make final preparations before Saturday’s start of the 6th annual General Tire NORRA Mexican 1000, today the sanctioning body released the final GPS files and downloadable Roadbooks on the website. The announcement is in keeping with Mexican 1000 tradition, as teams participating in the trans-Baja rally are not allowed to pre-run per NORRA rules and regulations.

In addition to the online GPS files, NORRA also has uploaded both its separate Motorcycle and Car Roadbooks that teams can use to finalize race strategies and update pit books before heading south of the border. As another NORRA tradition, each entry will also receive a full-color, printed and bound Roadbook for using during the rally by navigators and co-drivers. The files can be found at www.mexican1000.com.

Finally, NORRA has created a rally support program with Lowrance, the leading supplier of GPS systems to the off-road racing industry. The company will have a booth and product display set up at the General Tire Vintage Round-Up/Bilstein Technical inspection area on Saturday, April 25th from 9:00am until 6:00pm. Factory representatives will also be on-hand to offer technical support and make sure all of NORRA’s Mexican 1000 race teams are ready for a fun-filled 1,300-plus miles adventure to the finish line in San Jose Del Cabo.
