SCOTTSDALE , AZ – October 29th, 2014
– 2014 marked Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s first full season in off-road racing and it didn’t disappoint. From broken bones to podium finishes and X Games competition, Arie ran in two different series and saw success in both.

In TORC (The Off-Road Championship), Luyendyk finished 9th in the drivers’ standings with highs and lows that marked a learning year for the first-time Pro-2 driver and team owner. Making a remarkable recovery after breaking his collar bone, Luyendyk scored a podium finish in Charlotte just 18 days after surgery. Moving into 2015, Luyendyk sets on improving his new team in the TORC Series with the possibility of returning in the 900HP two-wheel-drive truck.

In Stadium Super Trucks, Luyendyk competed in 3 different events. Indianapolis would mark the first event in the Relief OTC / Harding Group truck where Luyendyk led both races but would only walk away with 5th overall after last lap contact. In the following event, the Detroit GP, Luyendyk would be backed by Quicken Loans and would charge to two podium finishes, narrowly missing his first win in a battle with E.J. Viso.

X Games would set the stage in Luyendyk’s final event of the series for 2014, with GUNK back on board to represent the #25. Luyendyk would narrowly make it to the main after contact in the heat race. Starting from the back row, moving forward proved difficult on the tight track and Arie would finish 10th out of the 18 drivers.

“Such a great first year in off-road racing! I’m very lucky to have such great support from all of our partners. This was quite a year and I’m very excited to have this experience under my belt heading into next season. Looking back, there are so many events where the team worked above and beyond, making our successes that much more gratifying. Our partners were amazing this season and I want to give a special thank you to GUNK for coming on board and joining the ride with me as a new team owner. Their products are such a perfect fit for our team and I hope we can grow both in TORC and SST. There are so many more to thank for making this all possible. Let’s make next year bigger and better!” – Arie Luyendyk Jr.
