BlueRibbon-Coalition-Logo-9-28-12POCATELLO, ID (April 30, 2014 ) – The BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC), a leading advocate for recreational access to public lands, announces its official participation in the Idaho Non-Profit Center’s second annual “Idaho Gives” day, which will take place on May 1, 2014. The Center hopes to build on the success of last year’s inaugural, statewide giving blitz, which raised nearly $600,000 for hundreds of nonprofits in a 24-hour period.

“Last year’s debut of Idaho Gives generated a tremendous outpouring of support from people all around Idaho, who gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to support more than 400 causes from across the state,” said Lynn Hoffmann, Executive Director of the Idaho Nonprofit Center. “This year, we hope to reach even more people by broadening and amplifying our call to support Idaho’s nonprofits, spurring donors into action on May 1.”

The event largely takes place online, driven by a central idahogives.org web site, where donors can learn about and designate funds for nonprofits in a number of categories, including arts & culture, children & youth, environment, humanitarian aid, education, animals, and religious organizations.

Idaho Gives is not just any fundraising day. Event sponsors have contributed money for a pool of match and prize funds, such that throughout the day organizations and donors will have the opportunity to multiply donations through hourly competitions, random drawings, and other giving incentives.

There are over $50,000 in cash prizes at stake for the non-profit organizations involved. These prizes can help your donation dollars go farther. Your $25 could become $1,025. 2014 Award Pool Details.

This event is an awesome opportunity for folks that recreate on Idaho’s many public lands to contribute to BRC’s efforts to protect their access to those areas and many others across the nation.

It’s quick and easy. Just click HERE to participate. Interested parties won’t have to wait until May 1, either. They can get started supporting their recreational access immediately. Any such “Early Bird” contributions will not be processed until May 1, but are eligible for the Early Bird Prize.
