Arie-THUMB-Luyendyk-Jr-TORC-2-10-14Los Angeles, CA – February 26, 2014 – Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, a global manufacturer with a primary focus in the replacement tire industry, has announced their renewed partnership with TORC PRO-2 driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. for the 2014 TORC: The Off-Road Championship season.

“Cooper Tire is proud to be sponsoring Arie Luyendyk Jr’s PRO-2 truck in the 2014 TORC Series,” stated Chris Pantani, Director of Motorsports for Cooper Tire. “Arie Jr. has proven to be a quick learner in all aspects of motorsports, and we envision him to be a front runner in the 2014 PRO-2 TORC class. Cooper Tire will be posting live updates from our Twitter handle @TeamCooperTire throughout the 2014 season.”

Cooper Tire, an official TORC series sponsor, had an established partnership with Team Aero Motorsports when Luyendyk was afforded the opportunity to race for the team in the final two events of the 2013 season. Posting a 4th-place finish at his first TORC race at Crandon, the former open-wheel stand-out and Stadium Super Trucks contender proved his ability to readily adapt to all forms of racing.

“Back at it again with Cooper Tires this season and I’m thrilled to have them on board. Having the right tire is so important in the TORC Series and I’m happy to partner with a manufacturer as driven to win as I am. Can’t wait to hit the track with the GUNK PRO-2, fitted with Cooper Tires!”

Luyendyk will kick off the 2014 season, driving the #25 GUNK PRO-2 on April 5th in Primm, Nevada. TORC: The Off-Road Championship will host fourteen races this season, with NBC Sports providing comprehensive television coverage, enhanced by an Armory-produced behind-the-scenes docu-series.
