BlueRibbon-Coalition-Logo-9-28-12The Blueribbon Coalition sent over this action alert on OHV Nevada areas. Comments are due by December 27th! … Editor

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

I know folks are getting ready for spending time with their families during the Christmas Holiday Season. OHVers should not have to be worrying about their access to public lands during this special time of the year.

Unfortunately, the public comment period is ending on December 27, for the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carson City District Bi-State Sage-Grouse Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS).

The DEIS will amend resource management plans to conserve, enhance and restore habitat for the species in many of our popular riding areas, including the Pine Nuts and Wilson Canyon.

BRC understands that many of you do not have the time to wade through hundreds of pages of federal planning documents, so we have created a letter generator where you can insert your own personal comments and also select a number of OHV management tools for the agency to consider.

The DEIS and other documents related to the project can be found online at: http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/nepa_project_exp.php?project=40683

The letter generator will send your comments directly to the project lead, James Winfrey.

Written comments may also be sent to Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Bi-State DEIS, 1200 Franklin Way, Sparks, Nevada, 89431. Comments may also be faxed to 775-355-5399. Questions or requests for hard copies of the DEIS may be directed to James Winfrey, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, at 775-355-5308.

Thanks in advance and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact BRC.
