Renezeder-Lucas-Oil-Pink-10-21-13LAKE FOREST, CA (October 21, 2013) – According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That means that each of us is touched by the disease in one way or another: a mom, a sister, a daughter, a friend or a personal diagnosis.

The goal of October being designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to reduce that number via education and early detection. Carl Renezeder and his short-course team will be doing their part to spread the word and build awareness next weekend in Lake Elsinore, California. The biggest race of the season, the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup, which is being shown live on MavTV, will see Renezeder’s traditional red, white and blue truck “tickled pink.”

Fabricante Auto Body was quick to offer to paint the #17 body panels that familiar shade of pink we’ve become accustomed to seeing in the fight against breast cancer, and Renezeder was thrilled to be able to use the short-course stage to spread the message.

“It’s so great to be able to take something we love to do and use it to promote a positive message.” commented Renezeder.  “If painting our truck pink means that just one new person beats the disease through early detection, then it’s worthwhile.”

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be hosting the final weekend of its 2013 season on October 25-27 at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, California.  Friday will host practice and qualifying for the final round (number 15) of racing on Saturday.  Then it’s the infamous Lucas Oil Challenge Cup race on Sunday, where Pro-4 and Pro-2 will race against each other for the coveted trophy and prize money.  Look for Renezeder to “paint the track pink” while he challenges for his third win in just five races (he also won the inaugural event in 2009 and again in 2012), and share a message with women that early detection can save their lives.
