Doug-Mittag-Tire-Radar-9-17-13Doug Mittag will serve as driver of the No. 31 Bronson Motorsports Toyota Tacoma sponsored by Radar Tires for next weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing (LOORRS) race at Las Vegas.

Mittag, 19, is subbing for the recovering Mike Johnson. The Temecula, Calif., native has been racing for six years.  So far this season, he has earned five podium finishes, including two wins in the Traxxas TORC Off Road Series.  In 2012, in his LOOORS ProLite debut race at Firebird Raceway, he finished third.  The young racer has also competed in the M4SX Series.

“This is a huge opportunity to race with Bronson Motorsports and in the Radar Tires truck,” Doug Mittag said.  “I’ve had the chance to test and work with the team these last few weeks and we should be very competitive in Las Vegas.  I’ve got to thank Radar Tires and Bronson Motorsports for bringing me on board for this race and represent the team and sponsor.”

Earlier this season, Bronson Motorsports and driver/owner Johnson competed in the first six events behind the wheel of the Bronson Motorsports Toyota Tacoma sponsored by Radar Tires ProLite machine.

“I have been having an issue with a nerve and disc in my neck and the doctors advised me to not compete in the Reno event as well,” said Mike Johnson.  “We’re evaluating my progress and making decisions on a race-by-race basis.”

Mittag has the full support of Johnson and the entire Bronson Motorsport team.  As Mittag prepares for the race, he has spent time in the Bronson Motorsports shop in Murietta, Calif., where he worked with the talented five-member team.

In 2013, the Bronson Motorsports team has prepared, assembled and raced two different machines in two series – the No. 31 Bronson Motorsports Toyota Tacoma sponsored by Radar Tires in LOORRS and the No.1031 Radar Tires Buggy in SCORE International.  The hard working and dedicated team has taken a break from the race track while Johnson recovers and is eager to get back to Las Vegas next weekend.
