Carl-Renezeder-Lucas-Oil-8-29-13LAKE FOREST, CA – Carl Renezeder has been in this position before. In fact, as an eight-time champion with 112 career short-course wins, he’s seen and done just about all there is in the sport. That in no way means he’s become complacent. He wants championships nine and ten just as badly as he wanted the first one, and as the 2013 season winds down, he’s in a position to win them both. But there’s still a lot of work to do to accomplish that amazing feat.

“It’s hard to believe we only have three points races left this season,” reflected Renezeder at the end of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event at the Wild West Motorsports Park this past weekend near Reno, Nevada.  “These Pro-4 and Pro-2 championships are both within reach, but it’s going to be a fight to the very end.”

Renezeder had another fantastic weekend in his Lucas Oil Pro-4, earning a pole and finishing second in both races.  His Lucas Oil Pro-2 struggled to find the right combination to battle with the leaders (he finished 5th both days), but he felt they’re on the right track with their overall setup.

“We’ve made a lot of changes on the Pro-2 throughout the season trying to find the magic, and I feel like we’re extremely close now, ” exclaimed Renezeder.

“The [Las} Vegas track is one of my favorites, and I think it suits our setup.  I’m confident we can make up some points in that class when were there next month.”

Las Vegas Motor Speedway played host to Renezeder’s first and 100th career wins, with the latter coming last year. He backed that up with wins 101 and 102 at that track as well – it’s no wonder he’s looking forward to returning there!

Renezeder is the only driver in short-course history to win both the Pro-4 and the Pro-2 division championships in the same season when he accomplished it in 2009, and he currently sits first in Pro-4 points and second in Pro-2. A lot can happen in three rounds of racing, but Renezeder knows how to handle the pressure. After all, he’s been in this position before. Will he repeat his 2009 season results? Rounds 13 and 14 will run on Friday and Saturday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, September 20-21. Catch the action to find out.
