Scott-Douglas-TORC-Chicago-7-23-13El Cajon, CA – After a second place finish at the FCP Brush Run in Crandon, Douglas Motorsports was looking to build on that success on the Dirt Track at Route 66 Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. After running well at a similar layout in Dodge City, Kansas, Scott Douglas had high expectations for the team’s performance. The team gave a solid performance during both nights of racing, but fell short of the team’s expectations.

The one-mile long TORC short-course track had some very fast sections along with a couple of technical switch backs and a very tough run through the middle of the circle track that had a table top jump and a flowing rhythm section that made for some great racing.

The AMSOIL Borla Exhaust BFGoodrich Tire Ford qualified fourth quickest in the PRO-4x 4 fields on Friday afternoon. When the field of twelve trucks took the green flag for Round 9, Douglas was in a tight battle during the entire fifteen laps as the #7 PRO-4×4 finished in fourth place.

The next morning the crew went to work looking to gain some more speed out of the AMSOIL Ford. As the 12,000 seat grandstands, were filled nearly to capacity, the Saturday night Round 10 race went much like the night before as the team once again finished in fourth.

“Looks like we have some work to do before we get to Red Bud,” noted Scott Douglas. “This new truck that we totally built in-house, is unique compared to any of our previous race trucks and I knew we would have some trying times. We finished fourth both nights, and to seek how competitive PRO-4×4 is week in and week out, many teams would be satisfied with our weekend, but our expectations are much higher at Douglas Motorsports.”

After ten rounds of racing in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL, Scott Douglas is currently third overall in the PRO-4×4 Points Championship. The next race on the schedule for Douglas Motorsports is August 10 -11 at RED BUD MX in Buchanan, Michigan.
