The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) heads to Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix this weekend for the final race of the season where the Pro2 Unlimited championship will be decided.  After Rob MacCachren suffered a disappointing weekend in Las Vegas, where he was absent from the podium for the first time of any LOORRS racing weekend this season, he has slipped to third in points behind rivals Brian Deegan and Marty Hart.  Never one to give up, MacCachren intends to put the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools / BFGoodrich Tires / TRAXXAS team back on podium for the eighth time this season.  Following the final Round 15 of racing on Saturday, both the Pro2 and Pro4 trucks will take to the track for the $30,000 Lucas Oil Off Road Cup. MacCachren is famous for his performances in cup races, with three Governor’s Cups, three Borg-Warner Cups to his credit and a victory at the TORC Chairman’s Cup earlier this season.

MacCachren is also fresh off his victory at the Best in the Desert Blue Water Desert Challenge with driver of record Steve Sourapas.  While most of the competition competes exclusively in LOORRS, this is just one of many series for the man many consider to be the most talented off-road racer on the planet.  MacCachren recently finished second place in the TRAXXAS TORC Pro 2WD series for the second year in a row in his MOPAR RAM, including his 200th win on BFGoodrich Tires at historic Crandon International Raceway on Labor Day weekend.  In the desert this season he has earned victories in SCORE International’s Laughlin Desert Challenge and the MasterCraft Safety Tecate San Felipe 250, which he won for the second year in a row.  On November 15th he will start third off the line in the No. 20 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / MasterCraft Safety Trophy Truck on a 1112-mile race down the Baja peninsula in a quest to win the Baja 1000 and earn the SCORE season championship, where he is currently leading in points.

If you are in the Phoenix metropolitan area this weekend you will want to come out to Firebird International Raceway this weekend to enjoy the great weather and watch the short course action in person.  After the races head over to MacCachren’s pit and grab a cold ROCKSTAR Energy Drink and get an autograph.  If you aren’t in Phoenix this weekend, get the latest updates on MacCachren’s qualifying times and race results on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/21RobMac.
